Discover Knights Sno-Kone

Tucked away on 1100 US-278, Amory, MS 38821, United States, Knights Sno-Kone is more than just a roadside stop-it’s a small-town gem that locals swear by and travelers never forget. The moment you pull up, the colorful stand and the scent of sweet syrups drifting through the air make you feel like summer never ends. What makes this place special isn’t just the snow cones themselves, but the care and creativity behind every flavor, every topping, and every smile from the people who serve them.

I first heard about it from a friend who grew up in Amory. She described it as “the taste of childhood,” and that’s exactly what it feels like. On my first visit, the heat was pushing 95 degrees, and a line of customers-families, kids on bikes, and even an elderly couple sharing a bench-wrapped around the corner. Everyone seemed to know the drill. You order, chat a bit, and watch as your icy treat is piled high with syrup in shades that could rival a rainbow. The texture is perfectly crushed, soft enough to melt slowly yet firm enough to hold its shape.

Their menu is simple but full of surprises. Beyond the classic flavors like cherry, blue raspberry, and wedding cake, there are creative combinations you won’t find elsewhere. Locals rave about the “Tiger’s Blood” and “Bahama Mama,” while some adventurous visitors go for custom mixes. A friend of mine swears by the “half-lemon, half-cotton-candy” combo-strange as it sounds, it’s unexpectedly refreshing. The team behind the counter knows their stuff too; they’ll recommend pairings if you can’t decide, and somehow they’re always spot-on.

But Knights Sno-Kone isn’t only about snow cones. It’s a gathering spot where time slows down. In a world of fast food and fleeting moments, this little diner-style shack brings back the lost art of lingering. You’ll find picnic tables shaded by umbrellas, kids laughing as syrup drips down their fingers, and locals catching up on the latest Amory news. It’s this sense of community that sets it apart. Research from the National Restaurant Association shows that local food businesses thrive when they create emotional connections-and this place nails that effortlessly.

If you’ve ever been to small-town diners or drive-ins, you’ll recognize that feeling of familiarity. The staff greet you like old friends, even if it’s your first time. You can tell they take pride in their work, using clean, high-quality ice and fresh syrup batches daily. This kind of consistency is why they’ve built such a loyal following. According to a 2024 local food trends report by Food & Wine, family-run dessert stands like Knights Sno-Kone have seen a resurgence because people are craving authenticity-something that big chains just can’t replicate.

As someone who’s tried my fair share of snow cone spots across the South, I can say few match the balance of flavor, texture, and friendliness found here. Even the little details-the carefully maintained seating area, the handwritten specials board, the playful color themes-show that the owners care deeply about presentation and experience. They’ve managed to create not just a business, but a landmark of local flavor.

Of course, the best way to know is to experience it yourself. Whether you’re driving through Mississippi or live nearby, stopping at this humble stand is a must. You’ll taste nostalgia in every bite and feel the warmth of Southern hospitality with every visit. And if you check out their reviews online, you’ll see it’s not just me-dozens of visitors echo the same thing: “best snow cones in town,” “friendly service,” and “worth every mile.”

So, next time you’re in Amory, don’t pass it by. This spot may look small from the road, but inside that tiny window is a whole lot of heart, flavor, and a touch of magic that keeps people coming back year after year.

  • I've driven by this place many times and never new they had BBQ Nachos. I ordred the small and they were excellent! The ratio of chips to toppings was just right. Bring cash because they don't accept credit cards. You will not be disappointed!

  • I've been going to this snow cone place for a long time. The service is friendly, and they have a pretty big selection of snowcones. I definitely recommend this place for a sweet treat!

  • The women working the counter on Thursday afternoon of last week were WONDERFUL! A huge crowd of us showed up after an event at the library, and they were fast and polite, even when some customers may not have been. The butterscotch milkshake was delectable! The only negative was that the trash can is located in an area that requires you to walk through the drive thru exit. It would be nice to have a garbage receptacle in a spot where kids can safely throw away their own trash.
